SOUTH FLORIDA (CBSMiami) — Do you feel ready to approach lenders about a car or home loan? If you’re a Wells Fargo customer, take advantage of their free offerings first.

The South Florida Business Journal reports South Florida’s largest holder of deposits announced two initiatives that will encourage consumers to learn more about their credit situations.

First, the bank is offering free credit score reports. From Oct. 1 through Nov. 15, all Wells Fargo consumer customers have complimentary, no-obligation access to their credit score and credit report.

Second, a month-long campaign will reach out to communities across the country and talk about the importance of credit and how to use it responsibly.

The consumer education initiative is in support of the American Bankers Association Education Foundation’s 10th annual National Get Smart About Credit day on Oct. 18.
