Florida’s First Female QB Shows Passing Power In S. Plantation Win
PLANTATION (CBSMiami) — The first girl to play quarterback in a Florida high school game has thrown her first completion.
South Plantation’s Erin Dimeglio (#20) entered late in the Paladins’ 41-12 win over Piper on Friday.
She completed her second pass, a screen for a two-yard loss. The 5-foot-5 senior, who is also a standout guard for the basketball team, had made her debut in South Plantation’s first game but threw no passes.
Dimeglio is currently in California taping a show for Nickelodeon. She will return to Plantation on Monday and head to her next practice Tuesday afternoon.
Plantation’s coach said Dimeglio may soon be featured in Sports Illustrated Kids’ online edition.
