Teen Recovering After Being Shot In Legs By Another Teen

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) -- A 16-year-old boy is recovering at the hospital Friday after being shot in the legs in Northwest Miami-Dade on Thursday night.

The shooting took place around 10:20 p.m. Police said the teen was sitting on an electric box at the corner of Northwest 196th Terrace and 52nd Place when he was approached by a another teenager who looked to be between 15 and 18-years old, according to Miami Dade police.

The two got into an argument and one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other twice in the legs.

"He did shoot multiple times and that is the danger involved with this. You have residents sleeping at that time, that are home, children that are home, and these stray bullets may end up being a tragedy and the subjects of course don't think of that," said Miami-Dade Police Spokesman Det. Alvaro Zabaleta.

The victim was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood where he is in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
