MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The operator of a crane working on Rickenbacker Causeway was hospitalized after something crashed through the cab of his crane, sending him falling to a barge below.
The accident happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.The man was working on a crane located on the side side of the causeway at Bear Cut bridge when the object fell through the top.
Miami\ Fire Rescue was able to get the man off the barge and into an ambulance so he could be treated.
Police have not released the name of the crane operator, and while Fire-Rescue said he was conscious when taken off the cam the extent of his injuries was not immediately available.
