FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An investigation is underway into why a baby from North Lauderdale died after being rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said around 7:15 p.m. they received a call about a 3-month old boy who was in some sort of physical distress at 5610 NW 43rd Avenue.

North Lauderdale Fire Rescue took the boy to Northwest Medical Center where he died a short time later.

The Broward County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. It is unclear at this point whether this was a medical issue, an accident or if there was foul play involved.
