Martial Arts Instructor Accused Of Having Sex With Teen
PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) - A South Florida martial arts instructor is facing serious charges after police say he had sexual relations with a 14 year old girl.
Anthony Columna, 22, was arrested Wednesday and charged with five counts of Lewd or Lascivious Battery, two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation and two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct.
Pembroke Pines police say on two occasions, Columna picked up the underage girl from school after she ditched class. He then allegedly took the girl to his home on the 21000 block of NW 3 Place and had sex with her several times in his bedroom and bathroom.
Columna was arrested when the girl, on a recorded call with police, asked him if he used a condom because she thought she may be pregnant. According to police, Columna made incriminating statements which led to him being subsequently taken into custody.
During interrogation, Columna reportedly admitted to detectives that he and the victim were attracted to each other, but denied having sexual intercourse. He also told detectives that he only took the girl to his home to keep her out of trouble.
Columna is being held on $20,000 bond and is ordered to have no contact with the victim.
