Masseuse Dies After Visit To Chris Bosh's Miami Beach Home

MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami Beach police have opened a death investigation after a masseuse collapsed and died shortly after arriving at Miami Heat star Chris Bosh's home Monday.

According to the incident report, the unidentified woman was "in good spirits" when she arrived at the home on North Bay Road just before 10:30 a.m.

Shortly after, the woman fell unconscious and Miami Beach Fire Rescue paramedics were called to the house.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead just after 11 p.m.

Police were advised by a friend of the woman that she had recently been battling cancer. It is not clear if that contributed to her death.

Early Tuesday, Bosh's wife Adrienne tweeted;  "A beautiful soul was lost tonight. Never take the here and now for granted. Life can be so frail." and " 1 min ur here,The next ur not.Today I Kissed my loved ones a few more times,I held them a little bit tighter, hugged them for a little longer."

The Bosh's released this statement late Tuesday.

"Last evening, a massage therapist that we have used for some time, arrived at our home to provide massage therapy. Shortly after she arrived, she fainted and lost consciousness. We called 911 and emergency personnel arrived at our home shortly thereafter. They took her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she passed away. Our hearts go out to her family. We are very sorry for their loss."
