Gorgeous Weather To Last Through Week's End

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – South Florida woke to a cool Tuesday morning with temperatures in the low to mid 50s inland to upper 60s near the coast.

The morning's temps were definitely not the norm which average around 70 degrees this time of year.

High pressure and a very dry, stable air mass will create mostly dry conditions and sunny skies throughout the day with highs in the upper 70s, according to CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez.

As high pressure builds, the wind from the North will increase to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon with some higher gusts.

Gonzalez said as surface high pressure across the Western Gulf of Mexico continues to move eastward into the region through tomorrow, the chance for rain will remain very low. The dry conditions have led to a Red Flag Warning for fire danger because of the low relative humidity and strong winds.

Wednesday morning could be even cooler than Tuesday with lows possibly dipping down to the low 50s inland and the upper 50s near the coast. Wednesday afternoon highs will be right around 80 degrees. A warming trend will be underway the second half of the week into the weekend as high pressure slides to our North and East providing us with more of an easterly flow.

The breeze will build as a weak front approaches from the northwest this weekend. And Mother Nature will turn up the heat and humidity Friday, Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 80s and a slight chance of showers due to southeasterly wind flow.
