MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you had put away all your sweaters and jackets, you might want to unpack them for at least a few nights this week.

After a stormy weekend, much drier air and bright sunshine has set up shop here in South Florida. The breezy northwest wind will be reinforced by a secondary cold front later Monday. This will usher in the coolest air South Florida has seen in two months.

By Tuesday morning, lows will be in the mid 50’s over inland areas, with mid 40s over northern Florida. During the day Tuesday, a breezy northwest wind will help temperatures struggle to reach the mid 70’s, roughly 10 degrees below normal.

Wednesday night could be the area’s coolest night with a few spots close to the Everglades dipping down into the upper 40s to near 50. Most areas will see lows in the mid 50s.

The same system bringing the cool air to South Florida is wreaking havoc in the northeast after becoming a strong Nor’easter. Travel delays were expected up and down the East Coast Monday after winds, rains, and even significant snowfall hit the U.S. northeastern coast.

Temperatures will begin to rebound later this week with low 80s expected for highs once again by Friday. Don’t look for any rain this week either as sunshine is the forecast for the entire work week.
