FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Firefighters had to use the ‘jaws of life’ to free a man from his car after it was involved in a collision with a Broward County transit bus.

The accident happened Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Broward Boulevard.

After cutting away the car and freeing the driver, rescue crews rushed the 30-year old man to Broward General Medical Center as a trauma alert. The four people on the bus at the time of the accident denied treatment, according to Ft. Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
