MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Former Miami resident and forever Material Girl Madonna made an appearance at the Ultra Music Festival Saturday night.

The global pop icon appeared as a special surprise guest to introduce the main stage final headlining artist AVICII. After her introduction, she joined the Swedish producer and DJ behind the decks and together they premiered his remix of her new single “Girl Gone Wild” from her upcoming album MDNA.

“I’ve been here in spirit for many years, but it’s good to finally be standing on the stage, looking at all you people who have come here from all around the world,” said Madonna told the crowd. “In my world the words ‘music’ and ‘dance’ are not separated. Electronic music has been a part of my life since the beginning of my career. I can honestly say that a DJ saved my life.”

More than 165,000 fans attended this year’s sold-out festival in downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park.
