Hollywood Woman Shot By Stranger In Her Apartment
HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – A Hollywood woman is recovering after she was shot by a stranger who had broken into her apartment.
Police said around 5:30 a.m., a man broke into apartment #8 at 2711 Lincoln Street and began shooting at the couple who were sleeping in their bed. One of the rounds struck the woman in the hip, others went through the walls into other apartments but there were no other injuries. The couple's children, who were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, were not hurt.
The woman was taken to Memorial Regional Medical Center.
The couple said they had no idea who the man was or why he shot at them. Police said they made an arrest at the apartment building the previous day but it's unknown if the two events are connected.
