Spring is almost here and Miami's theater scene is filled with live performances that are sure to satisfy. This is the perfect opportunity to experience live theater because of the wide variety of shows available throughout the South Florida area. "Come Fly Away" is a brand new Broadway musical combining Frank Sinatra tunes with the choreographic genius of Twyla Tharp. Fifteen dancers tell the story of four couples who fall in and out of love. Named after James L. Knight, head of the second largest newspaper publishing company in the U.S., the Center is located in Downtown Miami overlooking the Miami River at  Brickell Avenue and hosts live entertainment, business and political events and graduation ceremonies.

Michael Matthews' gospel stage play "I Need A Man" returns to theaters this spring. It is story about a middle-aged mother who longs to be young again. She turns her back on her family and her church upbringing in search of Mr. Right, only to discover that the "man" she needs is the Lord. The original all-star cast includes Alyson Williams (singer/actress) and Beverly Todd, (actress) along with Margaret Avery (Shug, "The Color Purple"), Jackee' Harry, (sitcoms "Sister to Sister" and "227") Reginald Ballard, ("Bro-Man," sitcom "Martin") gospel recording artists Jacky Clark (The Clark Sisters).

Entering its 26th season, the New Theatre celebrates and showcases the work of early and mid-career playwrights. The theatre presents plays that focus on issues of social and religious issues and human-interest stories. The plays also explore discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, the plight of immigrants and the role of youth in the community.

"Property Line" is a comedy about two old friends and neighbors who are at war over a 15-foot piece of green grass on the waterfront.

The Actors' Playhouse has been recognized as one of eight of Florida's major regional theaters and one of 22 major Miami-Dade County cultural institutions, Actors' Playhouse is a producer of critically acclaimed dramatic and musical theater. It is a privately owned, non-profit organization that presents live theater for adults and children. They also offer educational programs and a variety of community services.

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is an award-winning musical featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The story focuses on the Biblical tale of Joseph and his "coat of many colors" as it is recorded in the Book of Genesis. The score features familiar songs like "Close Every Door To Me," "Any Dream Will Do," and "Go Go Go Joseph."

Winner of the 2011 Carbonell Award for Best Musical, The Stage Door Theatre produces its own performances and is well known in the area for its affordable, high-quality shows. It offers a broad mixture of shows that appeal to all ages and tastes.

Watch the Off-Broadway hit that brings millions to the theater year after year. "Little Shop of Horrors" is the story of a down-on-his-luck floral assistant who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant. It's a musical filled with 60's-style rock-n-roll, doo-wop and early Motown hits.
