MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – A sister of Cuban leaders Fidel and Raul Castro died at a clinic in Havana following a long illness.
Juanita Castro, who lives in Miami, said her elder sister Angela, 88, passed away Tuesday after suffering Alzheimer’s disease for many years. Angela Castro was one of seven children.
Castro said her sister was unconscious and surrounded by her children when she died; her body was then cremated.
The Cuban government did not immediately comment on the news Wednesday.
