DAVIE (CBSMiami) – A safety alert for students who live near Nova Southeastern University.

Early Tuesday morning a woman awoke to find a man standing next to her bed in her apartment in the 2900 block of University Drive. The woman told police screamed and struggled with the man who ran off.

She said she didn’t get a good look at his face because he had a dark-colored bandana over it. What she was able to tell police was that he was a black male, about 5’ 7” and looked to be in his 20s. He was wearing a grey hoodie sweatshirt, dark jogging pants and black workout gloves.

If police do catch him, he’ll most likely be charged with burglary and attempted sexual battery.

If anyone has any information on this guy, they’re asked to call the Davie Police Department Major Crimes Unit at (954) 693-8303.
