MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) -A woman who fled her home with her children, claiming her husband put them in danger, touched off an ongoing SWAT situation in Miami Beach Saturday afternoon after the husband apparently barricaded himself in the home.

The Miami Beach POlice SWAT team was called to the home in the 2800 block of Prarie Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, after the coman told police that her husband had weapons in the home she had just fled.

The woman and her children were not in danger, but police, concerned about the weapons, set up a perimeter and moved SWAT team members in.

The woman, whose name was not immediately available, said her husband had physically abused her before she fled.

Streets in the area were closed, and police were urging people to avoid the area.
