Voters Give Gov. Scott, Legislature Low Numbers - Again

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) – Governor Rick Scott's job approval rating inched up in the latest poll to his best numbers yet, but he's still not batting .500.

The survey of more than 1,400 registered voters by Quinnipiac University found that 38 percent gave him a positive job approval rating compared to 50 percent who gave him a negative rating.

While his approval rating numbers remain low, they're still better than those given to the state's Legislature. Only 33 percent of Florida voters approve of the way the state Legislature is handling its job while 49 percent disapprove.

Republicans are overwhelmingly in control of the Legislature and as expected GOP voters like the Legislature better, with 56 percent approving the job it's doing compared to 26 percent who disapprove. But 55 percent of independents disapprove of the Legislature and 67 percent of Democrats.
