Robber Wanted For Back-To-Back Bank Heists In Broward

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Davie Police Department is searching for a man who robbed a bank in broad daylight then disappeared without a trace and he may have committed back-to-back bank heists as well.

The first robbery took place at the Regents Bank, located at 2205 University Drive in Davie at around 11:40 a.m. Police said a man simply walked in and handed a note to a teller demanding money.

He was given an unknown amount of money then fled the bank.

Police said the suspect is between 5'10' - 6'0" tall, he has a round face with short dark hair and facial hair on his chin line. He was wearing a white T-shirt, long dark pants and black shoes, not sneakers.

A police perimeter was set up and police dogs were called in to help in the search.

Police said the suspect never showed a weapon and there were no injuries.

Forty minutes after the Regents bank robbery, another robbery took place at the Valley Bank, located at 3309 Sheridan Street in Hollywood. The suspect, who matched the description of the Regents suspect, also handed the teller a note demanding money.

In the Valley Bank robbery, however, he's wearing a button down shirt instead of a T-shirt.

There's no details on how much money he got away with.

If you recognize the suspect, call police.
