Fins Interview Bowles For Head Coaching Job

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Dolphins wasted no time in starting its head coaching search in 2012.

Monday, Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland interviewed former interim head coach Todd Bowles for the permanent head coaching position.

The interview was assured to Bowles when he took over the team with three weeks left in the season.

Additionally, by interviewing Bowles, the Fins have complied with the Rooney Rule.

That rule mandates teams must interview minority candidates for head coaching jobs before making a hire.

Bowles rallied the team after the Fins fired Tony Sparano to finish with a 2-1 record.

The Fins just missed out on finishing 3-0 in the final three games with a three point loss to the New England Patriots on Christmas Eve.
