Burger King To Introduce New, Thicker Fries Monday

MIAMI (CBS4)- Miami-based Burger King will introduce a new French- fry formula come Monday.

The second largest burger chain will introduce the new recipe in its more than 7,000 North American Restaurants.

This is the first recipe change for burger king since 1998.

The new fries will cost the same, but are thicker and have less sodium. They also have a coating designed to make them crispier and stay hotter longer.

"A thicker cut of potato gives each bite more fluffy, potato flavor on the inside and crispy, golden-brown deliciousness on the outside," the company stated in a press release.

The company will promote the new fries on December 16th by giving away $1 portions for free as part of their "Free Fries Friday" promotion. No purchase necessary, while supplies last, the company said.
