Gas Prices Fall Ahead Of Thanksgiving

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – If you're heading out on the road this week for the Thanksgiving holiday; you can breathe a little easier when you fill up at the pump.

According to AAA, thanks to poor demand, gas prices continued to fall over the last week. Nationally, gas prices were $3.36 a gallon, which was nearly seven cents cheaper than last week and down 11 cents from a month ago.

Still, the national average is nearly 50 cents higher than it was during the same time in 2010.

In Florida, the average price of gas was just higher than the national average, coming in at $3.37 per gallon. Florida's prices have dropped five cents from last week and nearly 11 cents in the last month.

AAA also predicts that gas prices will continue to drop into Wednesday, which is the official start of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

But, oil prices continue to hover around $100 a barrel and until the Euro zone debt crisis comes into better focus, AAA expects oil prices to remain high.
