Police Looking For Hit &Run Driver In SR 826 Accident

MIAMI (CBS4)- Police are asking for the public's help to find the hit and run driver who they said caused accident on the Palmetto Expressway, which claimed the life of a woman.

According to police, Juan Miranda and 73-year-old Martha Miranda was traveling southbound when they were rear-ended just south of NW 74th Street. Their car lost control and hit the guardrail.

Martha Miranda was the passenger in the car and was ejected when their car hit the guardrail. She was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she later died.

The driver who hit them took off, and now the family is begging for the person responsible to turn themselves in.

Police believe the car in question is a dark-colored vehicle with right front end damage.

They also want to speak to a female who called police from the victim's phone.

The couple was married for 54 years. Martha Miranda would've turned 74-years-old on Christmas Day.
