Van Crashes Into Weston Gas Station, Driver Asks For Cigarettes

WESTON (CBSMiami) – A west Broward gas station got an unexpected drive thru window Wednesday morning when a woman accidentally plowed through the front doors.

Just after 4:30 a.m., Tamara Aponte was behind the wheel of her minivan when she hit the gas instead of the brake, according to Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman Wright.

The red van shot over a parking curb in front of the Citgo station at 20 Indian Trace and crashed through the glass front door.

After the van came through the door, the store clerk dialed 911, then the driver asked for a pack of cigarettes.

Aponte and the store's clerk were not injured.
