SUNRISE, Fla. (CBSMiami.com) – Lost amidst the discussion of the sale of BankAtlantic to BB&T was the future of the Bank Atlantic Center.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the home of the Florida Panthers may not be renamed for several months. But, according to the Sun-Sentinel, the arena could be named the BB&T Center, the BB&T Arena, or something else completely.
Bank Atlantic paid a reported $20 million in a 10-year naming rights deal that was completed in 2005, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
The arena is no stranger to being renamed. It’s been known as the National Car Rental Center, the Office Depot Center, and the most recent name, the Bank Atlantic Center.
