Rapist On The Run After North Dade Attack

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A sketch has been released of a rapist on the run who attacked a woman over the weekend as she was stopped on the side of the road.

Miami-Dade police spokesman Det. Roy Rutland said early Sunday morning a 21-year old woman was having car trouble on I-95 and exited at Northwest 103rd Street. She stopped near Northwest 6th Avenue and got out to check it. That's when, according to police, she was hit from behind, pushed to the ground, punched in the face and then sexually assaulted.

After the attack, the man fled in a black, older model Honda with dark tinted windows. He is described as a man in his early 20's, approximately 5'8" to 5"9" in height, thin build and dark curly hair. He also has a silver hoop earring in his left earlobe.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
