2 Dead In Single Engine Airplane Crash In Homestead

HOMESTEAD (CBS4)- Authorities are investigating after a small aircraft  crashed in Homestead Saturday morning killing both people on board.

According to an FAA spokesperson, the single engine fixed wing aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances at the Richards Field Airport in Homestead just after 10:30 a.m.

The owner of the plane is from Miami, according to the FAA.

Local authorities reported that there were two fatalities, the FAA said.

    Most likely they were flying to Kendall Tamiami Executive Airport for the Fall fly In at Wings over Miami today. What a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My friend the pilot, died in this accident, I am so sad, l will always think of him, as a true friend who is hard to forget, and there is great pain involved,I l never forget this and will always think of Rick Blanco, he was a rolle model to many,I l never forget his warm smile.
    I am traumatized by all this, the pain is too strong,
