NEW YORK (CBS4) – British singer-songwriter Sting announced plans Monday for a North American concert tour to mark the 25th anniversary of his solo career and he’s bringing that tour to South Florida.

Live Nation said the former front man of the rock band The Police will bring his “Back to Bass Tour” to the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre on Saturday, November 12th.

The pop icon is expected to play stripped-down versions of all of his hits, backed by a five-piece band during the series of shows which kicks off in Boston in October.

Tickets go on sale beginning Sept. 19 at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com or charge by phone (800) 745-3000 and at the Fillmore Box Office.

The box set collection “Sting: 25 Years” is set for release Sept. 27.
