Man Arrested In Coral Springs Double Stabbing

CORAL SPRINGS (CBS4) - Two brothers are in critical condition after an early morning stabbing in a quiet Coral Springs neighborhood.

Coral Springs Police Lt. Joe McHugh says the assailant, James Sullivan, 45, is in custody and charged with two counts of attempted murder.

The dispute happened at a home on the 10-thousand block of NW 39 Court around 6:30 Monday morning

Police say they received a 9-1-1 call from a resident saying a neighbor was at the doorstep bleeding from stab wounds. When police arrived they found another victim with multiple stab wounds and a third man covered in blood.

Neighbors say the two brothers and their cousin live at the residence. The victims have been identified as Richard Lonschein, 50,  and Robert Lonschein, 46.

"This is a very quiet neighborhood," said Cheryl Reynolds who lives a couple houses down from the scene of the crime. "Everybody is always friendly and there are usually no disputes. It makes me nervous to know this could happen in my neighborhood"

The two victims underwent surgery Monday afternoon.  The third man was taken to a Coral Springs Medical Center for safety due to reported erratic behavior.
