Police Search For Two Pompano Beach Liquor Store Robbers
POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for two men, one of the easily identifiable, who robbed a Pompano Beach liquor store and their crimes were caught on surveillance video.
The robbery took place Monday night at the Oscar Discount Beverage, located on 900 East Atlantic Boulevard.
One of the thieves walked up to a clerk who was standing by a walk-in freezer in the back of the store and asked for a particular kind of beer. Then he walked into the freezer in an apparent attempt to have the clerk follow him into the freezer.
At the same time, a second man, who wore a hooded sweatshirt on backwards with eye holes cut into the hood, jumped over the front counter and stole cash from the register.
As the clerk ran to stop him, the first suspect grabbed him, punched and kicked him and pulled him back in the freezer. He then stole money from his pocket, said BSO.
