FORT LAUDERDALE – (CBS4) – The Hollywood man accused of killing his mother made an appearance in Broward’s criminal courthouse Friday.

Jason Kertesz, 29, is facing a first-degree murder charge for the killing of his mother Irene Kertesz on July 30th.

Through his attorney, Kertesz entered a not guilty plea.

Kertesz is being held in a Broward County jail without bond.

According to the arrest affidavit, Kertesz’s 62-year-old mother was found dead in her home in the 2400 block of Northwest 57th Way sometime around 9 p.m. on July 30th.

Her husband, John, discovered her body.
