Dump Old Rx Pills At Drug Take-Back Event

TALLAHASSEE (CBS4) – It's time to clean out those medicine cabinets of prescription drugs that you no longer use or are expired. Saturday is Florida's Second Annual Statewide Drug Take-Back Event where you can give your old and unused prescription drugs to authorities for disposal.

Drug and grocery stores as well as law enforcement offices across the state are among locations where pharmaceuticals can be turned in from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

There will be participating sites in 25 of the state's 67 counties.

Here are the locations in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties:

Attorney General Pam Bondi said the number of sites have doubled since last year due to high participation.

The event is being held in conjunction with the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, National Family Partnership, Walgreens and the CARES Alliance, which stands for Collaborating and Acting Responsibly to Ensure Safety.

Local and state law enforcement agencies also are participating.
