MIAMI (cbs4) – Miami Heat star LeBron James has caused a bit of a buzz after posting a picture on his Twitter account.
The picture shows him in a t-shirt whose design ties Akron, Ohio, to the team that welcomed him after he left the Cleveland Cavaliers
The Akron Beacon Journal reports the design created by two University of Akron students says `AKRON’ in the same font used on Miami Heat jerseys and features a flame shooting out of the `N.’
Co-creator Willie Harper told the newspaper he had asked a friend to give James the shirt.
James’ Aug. 1 photo tweets received thousands of hits and led to a swirl of Internet rumors that the shirt was a Nike product.
Harper says that’s not the case and that he’s the “culprit.”
