Sinkhole Collapses Ft. Lauderdale Road
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – Traffic is being re-routed on a residential street near Broward General Medical Center after part of it collapsed in a sinkhole.
Ft. Lauderdale spokesman Matt Little said 12 inch sewer line break in the 300 block of SW 17th Street around 11 a.m. caused a section of the road to sink. Firefighters have closed the street to traffic as city workers repair the break, drain the water and repair the road.
City officials hope to have the street re-opened on Wednesday.
