Tipsy Toddler Lands Dad In Jail
ORLANDO (CBS4) – An emergency hearing will be held Monday to determine who will take custody of an Orlando toddler who was found outside his father's mobile home drinking beer.
Over the weekend, a neighbor of Elvin Garcia called police after they spotted his 18-month old son picking up beer cans and drinking out of them.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Garcia was "passed out" inside the trailer when deputies arrived; the child was alone outside, drinking beer.
Garcia was arrested on child neglect charges and made his first appearance in court Sunday morning. Department of Children and Families investigators described the home as "deplorable."
