Two-Car Crash Stops Traffic On Turnpike
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) - Drivers on the Florida Turnpike in Miami-Dade County Friday afternoon were faced with quite a delay after a two-car crash stopped traffic in both directions shortly before 3 p.m.
One car in the accident, a silver Cadillac, rear-ended a red Ford Explorer Sport Trac, sending the SUV off the road and into tress near the Bird Road interchange.
The driver of the Sport Trac was airlifted via Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital. No name, or a condition, has been released.
The Turnpike opened up later in the afternoon.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation.
