Pucker Up For Patriotism

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) -- A South Florida businessman is asking Americans to pucker up for patriotism.

Coral Springs resident David Hyman runs the newly created organization "Kiss America," and sells a line of patriotic T-shirts, hats and pins.

The logo is a pair of lips colored in the design of the American flag. Its website features links to political news stories.

The endeavor started last year when Hyman printed T-shirts for his daughter's friends to wear during a July Fourth parade. The 62-year-old sold all 144 T-shirts he brought with him that day. He now sells T-shirts and other gear online.

Hyman says we kiss the people we care about, so why not show the same love to our country.

"Maybe we got something here and maybe we lost it somewhere along the line and I want to at least bring back the recognition of patriotism," said Hyman.

Hyman says he's donating 10-percent of his proceeds to charities that benefit veterans.
