Sweetwater Farm Stores Employees Robbed At Gunpoint

SWEETWATER (CBS4) - A terrifying night for three employees of a Farm Stores in Sweetwater who robbed at gunpoint.

The husband of one of the employees, who did not wish to be identified in this report, said he rushed to the store at SW 112th Avenue and W Flagler Street as soon as he heard what happened.

"She told me they had robbed the job and put a gun to her head and a co-workers head," said the man.

"Two males came and distracted the attendants at the Farm Stores while two more snuck around from the opposite side of the store. They held a couple of the attendants at gunpoint and took off with two cash drawers and were able to enter one of the safes," said Sweetwater police spokesman Det. Allen St. Germain.

Police believe the robbers took off in a white SUV captured on a surveillance camera.

No one was hurt in the robbery.

"This is one of the Farm Stores which unfortunately hasn't been enclosed in. Most of the other Farm Stores are closed at night time with revolving windows, but as I said this is one of the few stores left which is open all night long where people have access to the attendants," said St. Germain.

The store's employees reportedly told police the men got away with about $80 which was in each of the cash register drawers.
