Commuters Beware Of Weekend Turnpike Ramp Closures

MIAMI (CBS4)-For commuters out this weekend, expect some detours in your drive if you're using the Florida Turnpike.

Authorities advised there will be construction on the turnpike and commuters should take note of the following ramp closures in Broward County:

The Hollywood/Pines Boulevard exit and entrance ramps from and onto the southbound turnpike will be closed for resurfacing from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Alternate route: Griffin Road exit, number 53.

The Hollywood/Pines Boulevard exit from the northbound turnpike will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The Hollywood/Pines Boulevard entrance ramp onto the northbound turnpike will remain open.

The exit from the northbound turnpike toward University Drive/Northwest 27th Avenue will be closed for pavement removal and replacement from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Alternate route: Commuters will exit at Northwest 57th Avenue, go north toward Miramar Parkway and east on University Drive.

In Miami-Dade County, the following ramps will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday:

The entrance ramp from Kendall Drive/Southwest 88th Street onto the southbound turnpike will be shut down. It will re-open during the week but it will close again the following weekend.

The Biscayne Drive/Southwest 288th Street entrance ramp onto the southbound turnpike will also be closed for resurfacing.
