Family Displaced By Fire Gets Help From Firefighter's Charity

PEMBROKE PARK (CBS4) - A woman whose apartment and belongings went up in flames last month received a helping hand Monday night.

The Firefighter's Charitable Foundation presented a $500 check to Mary Perry and her daughter Mina.

Perry's apartment in Pembroke Park was badly damaged in March due to an electrical short.

All of the family's clothes and belongings were destroyed in the fire, even Mary's medications.

The family was overwhelmed by the gift.

"We're grateful and appreciative in more ways than we explain right now," said Perry.
