Sketch Released Of Man Wanted For Attempted Abduction

MIAMI (CBS4) –Miami police officers hand out flyers to motorists and business owners baring a composite sketch of the man a 16 year old high school girl says tried to abduct her from a bus stop at the corner of LeJuene Road and Northwest 7th street Wednesday morning.

The girl was waiting to catch a bus to go to school.

“This is extremely important probably the only real lead we have right now,” said Detective Mike Rojas.

A lead authorities where able to get thanks to the 16 year old who even though trying to get away, police says was able to remember details about the man who she says tried to kidnap her.

“She was very brave, she fought him back and even throughout the fight she was able to recall what he looked like, his height, his weight, his hair, eyes, features and everything,” said Detective Rojas.

Investigators say the suspect pulled up to the bus stop in his vehicle and in broad daylight tried to pull the girl into his automobile.  A woman pumping gas at a nearby gas station heard her screams say police and came running.

“She stepped out toward the sidewalk and scream at them, screamed at him to let her go and that’s when he actually let her go,” says Rojas.

Authorities say the suspect, then got back in his car and drove off.

“He let her go, blew her a kiss and said see you tomorrow, and got into his car laughing and then just drove off,” says Rojas.

Police say the suspect was driving a grey colored four-door hatchback.

If you have any information about this incident you are urged to call Miami Dade Crime Stoppers at 305- 471- TIPS.

a similar thing happened to me in January in Coral Gables. I was running at 6am and stopped to stretch at the intersection of Lejune and Bird. A Hispanic man in an SUV was waiting outside his car…it looked super sketch and then as I continued to run he put the car in reverse and chased me down LeJune. Thankfully, there was some on-coming traffic and I was able to escape and even more fortunate, I found a police officer to drive me home!! you gotta be really careful out there ladies…especially at these bus stops..early morning and late night. I think human trafficking is a huge issue here and the police need to take more measures to stop it.

I agree about the sketch. More police departments need talented artists such as this one. They do help the public be on the lookout. What a loser; i hope he gets caught soon.

It makes me mad that Miami is so full of stupid, unethical people with no conscience. Coming to the USA, don’t people even try or attempt to learn the English language from Cuba? I went to Miccosukee tonight for the first time and will never be going back to that third world place or whatever it is. People in that place are rude and I think I have lung cancer now.

Hate to be the cynic here but with such a detailed sketch….I know when I was mugged at a gas station I was just able to remember very general details about the punk. You know, when your body’s in a fear response (adrenaline ) some things don’t work as well. They should check if maybe the girl was with a boyfriend or setting up an ex. I’m not necessarily blaming her just calling for ALL angles to be looked at.
