Lanes Re-Open After Downed Power Lines Caused Traffic Diversion
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) – Both northbound and southbound lanes of A1A at 1015 Seabreeze Boulevard were blocked thanks to power lines being down earlier Monday.
Florida Power and Light worked on the situation that resulted from an accident involving construction equipment, according to City of Fort Lauderdale spokesman Matt Little.
The lines, located just in front of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, fell when a front-end loader struck a power pole, bringing them down.
The fire that resulted was extinguished by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel.
Traffic in both directions was re-routed.
No one was injured.
