Unknown Man Found Dead In Weston Canal

WESTON (CBS4) – The body of an unknown man was found floating in a Weston canal Sunday.

A golfer at the Weston Hills Golf Club, 2600 Country Club Way, found the body just past 5 p.m.

“They immediately contacted the employees of the Country Club, which in turn called BSO deputies,” said BSO spokesperson Keyla Concepcion.

Deputies called out the marine unit, homicide detectives, and crime scene investigators. Divers jumped into the canal and pulled out the man’s body. They don’t know how long he was in there.

“We really have to wait and look at all the facts. And once we’re able to do that, and positively identify who the person in question is, we’ll be able to determine what exactly happened or what might have taken place,” said Concepcion.
The identity of the man has not been released.

The body has been taken to the Broward County Medical Examiner’s office for identification and cause of death.

BSO is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crimestoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.

Ya know, I have a friend in Japan. He told me amid the destruction, deaths, radiation, etc., people are calm, collected, and worrying more about others than themselves. There is no looting going on, no fighting, no riots, and no barbaric aftermath destruction. Look at South Florida. It is a refuge for every soulless, barbaric animal in the world to come to. There are A LOT of good people in South Florida, but are not the majority. Just imagine if what happened in Japan happened here. I would be more worried about getting looted and shot by someone more than surviving the natural disaster.

That is why it is necessary to own guns…the animals.

@Mike. Do you post this drivel on any and all comment board you can find. It has nothing to do with the story. And besides, with comments like that you would probably be the first to turn on your neighbor. FYI, after Wilma my neighborhood reacted just as you described the people in Japan, looking out for their neighbors and helping out where they can.

@Philip. Keep your guns put away or at the gun range.

@Adam. He isn’t referring to actual animals, just people who he claims would act like animals. I don’t agree at all with his comment.

Weston is under siege by burglars. You won’t find it in the news because it would affect property values. However, this policy is keeping most Weston residents in the dark as well. Over the years we have been a relatively low crime community. But everything has recently changed. My neighborhood of less than 150 homes experienced two burglaries in less than three weeks. It opened my eyes to the severity of the problem in Weston.
The man found in the canal is rumored to be one of three burglars who fled the scene of a burglary last week in Weston Hills. The other two were captured.but many more are out there preying on Weston.
