Senators Drop Panthers, 2-1

SUNRISE, Fla. (CBS4) - The Florida Panthers were hoping to build off some recent improving play when they took the ice against the Ottawa Senators Thursday night. Instead, the Panthers lost another close game, 2-1.

Defenseman Erik Karlsson scored twice in the last 8:48 to help lead the Senators beat the Panthers.

Former Florida backup Craig Anderson stopped 33 shots and came within 4:13 of his second shutout since being acquired in a trade from Colorado on Feb. 18. Anderson, who has started every game since going to Ottawa, has allowed one goal or fewer in seven of his nine starts.

He outdueled his former goalie partner in Florida, Tomas Vokoun, who stopped 37 shots.

Defenseman Clay Wilson scored for Florida.
