IKEA Recalling Thousands Of Cribs

MIAMI (CBS4) - IKEA Home Furnishing is recalling thousands of cribs in the U.S. and Canada because of faulty bolts that may cause the unit to collapse.

The company says the bolts provided with their SNIGLAR cribs are not long enough and may cause the mattress support to detach from the unit, causing the crib to collapse.

If the crib collapses, it may cause entrapment and even suffocation of the child.

The cribs included in the recall are the SNIGLAR non-drop-side, full-size cribs with model number 60091931. The name and model number are printed on a label attached to the mattress support. The mattress support and crib frame are made of a natural/light colored wood.

No injuries have been reported, but IKEA is warning parents to find alternate places for their children to sleep until receiving the free repair kit from the company.

For more information call IKEA toll-free at (888) 966-4532 or log on to www.ikea-usa.com.
