Honda Issues Recall For Nearly 100k Vehicles

MIAMI (CBS4) - Honda is recalling 97,000 of its popular Fit models over concerns they could have an engine problem.

The company says Fit models made between years 2009 and 2010 have a problem with their motion springs that could cause them to bend of break over time. That defect could potentially cause engine damage or stalling.

Notices will be mailed to owners affected by the recall in early March. Customers will have to take their car into an authorized dealer for repair.

Honda says the recall is preemptive, and that no accidents have been reported so far.

Contact Honda's customer service department at (800) 999-1000 for more information.
