Big Start to Year for Port Everglades

Port Everglades is breaking records.

Cruise ship travel at the Port is way up for the first quarter of fiscal year 2010. In fact, it's more than 22% higher than the highest amount reported three years ago, prior to the recession.

Revenue was $37.5 million for October-December 2010, higher than than $30.6 million reported three years ago.

Cruise traffic is also up 25% during the first quarter over the same period last year.

Port officials say the best news is that they expect the numbers to climb through the cruise season over the next few months.
