Pompano Beach Area Under Boil Water Order

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) - Some residents of Pompano Beach remain under a precautionary boil water order after a six-inch line ruptured Monday.

The line has been repaired and the system flushed, but it will be at least 48 hours until the city knows if the water is safe to drink. They must have two water sample test results come back at acceptable levels.

The areas affected are from SE 22nd Avenue from SE 9th Street north to the cul-de-sac, SE 8th Court from SE 22nd Avenue east to the Intracoastal Waterway, SE 8th Street from SE 22nd Avenue east to the Intracoastal Waterway and the cul-de-sacs north of SE 8th Street; Buttonwood Court, Cypress Court, Sabal Court and Lakeview Road.

City officials say until they are given the 'all clear' residents in the affected area should boil all water used for cooking, drinking or brushing teeth for at least one minute before use.
