Florida Atlantic Downed By Troy 44-7

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS4) ― Corey Robinson threw three touchdowns and Shawn Southward rushed for two touchdowns as Troy routed Florida Atlantic 44-7 on Saturday.

Troy (7-5, 6-2 Sun Belt) beat the Owls for the seventh time in eight seasons. The Trojans can clinch a share of their fifth consecutive Sun Belt Conference title if Middle Tennessee beats Florida International on Saturday night.

Robinson finished 22-for-31 for 305 yards for the Trojans, who scored 30 points in the first half.

The Owls (4-8, 3-5 Sun Belt) lost their third consecutive game. Jeff Van Camp was 21-for-41 for 302 yards and one touchdown for Florida Atlantic.

Florida Atlantic's Howard Schnellenberger coached in his 300th career college game on Saturday. Schnellenberger,76,started his head coaching career at the University of Miami in 1979. He also coached at Louisville and Oklahoma, and is 57-63 in his 10th season at Florida Atlantic.
