AVENTURA (CBS4) — A man was struck and killed by the rear-end of a Miami-Dade Transit bus Saturday in the 20000 block of NE 29th Place in Aventura.

The man, who is described as a white male in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Aventura Police Department.

The accident originally was classified as a hit and run, as the bus driver was unaware of the accident. He returned to the scene and is being helpful in the investigation of the accident, police say.

The accident remains under investigation, and police say there probably will not be charges filed against the bus driver
