WEB EXTRA: Home Again!Badlands National Park officials released four bison into a newly fenced in section of the South Dakota national park last Friday. Bison haven't been in that area since the 1870s, according to the World Wildlife Fund. The National Park Foundation said the new land came from a land swap with a local ranch. About 1,200 bison currently roam the Badlands park and are separated from local cattle by fencing.
